MSIT® Phase Diagrams Center

The MSIT Phase Diagrams Center

The MSIT Phase Diagrams Center addresses phase diagrams, phase reactions, thermodynamics, crystal structures and materials properties of inorganic materials. It keeps customers alerted to the growing knowledge and makes information easily accessible.

All information is arranged by materials systems and offered at various levels of MSIT-added value, ranging from “Links to Literature” for all systems ever published, to “Critical Evaluations” of all data and phase diagrams available for a specific system.

The MSIT Phase Diagrams Center exclusively offers all the results from the world’s longest running global program on critical evaluation of phase diagrams and constitutional data (since 1984).

Buy Phase Diagrams Online – Single user licenses

This is the alternative to subscriptions, allowing single users to access knowledge on phase diagrams when it is needed! Search the world libraries in the MSIT Phase Diagrams Center, purchase a 6 month license to your area of interest and receive a matching license key immediately.

Products

Phase Diagrams Evaluations: interactive reports on materials constitutional properties at the highest level of scientific competence, collated, analyzed and critically evaluated by MSIT®.

Phase Diagrams Compilations: covering more than 30 000 inorganic systems from elements to multi-component systems; offering literature extracts, reference diagrams and citations to all relevant literature from pre-1900 onwards.

Current Work Alert: listing ongoing work and recently completed or planned research in materials constitution, phase diagrams, thermodynamics and ab initio calculations, etc.

How to Access Phase Diagrams Knowledge

For immediate access purchase a single user license by credit card: Select the material(s) you are interested in from the periodic table in our Buy Online section. Combine these with the type of information you need and receive a license key by credit card purchase.

For a multi-user environment recommend the purchase of a subscription to your library, or call MSI directly to discuss your licensing needs.

With a valid license you can address the licensed area at any time and download documents as you need them. To work with the interactive documents, online or off-line, you need to install the PC based viewer MSIT Connect (free)

Subscription

Subscriptions are the economic alternatives for multi-user environments, universities, consortia, enterprises and others. Subscriptions usually cover all materials classes and all types of information available in the MSIT Phase Diagrams Center, however subsets can be subscribed, too.

Access is IP controlled and open for any desktop PC within the subscribing site(s)

Free Phase Diagrams Content

A substantial number of documents can be accessed at a “zero” price immediately.

Which documents are free? – All phase diagrams of the entire category “Reference Diagrams” are freely available. For each other data category sample documents are available free of charge. For more details see: Free Contents

How to get them? - Use the Buy Online facility and add only “zero” priced documents to the shopping cart. The payment step than is skipped - no credit card is required.

MSIT® Connect

MSIT® Connect is an authentication, authorization and viewing software, managing the individual user rights. Sample documents from the MSIT Phase Diagrams Center can be viewed by all users via MSIT Connect - no license needed.

Registered users receive a license key for MSIT Connect that provides access to their license areas in the MSIT Phase Diagrams Center and to their secured web areas in matport.com.

Licenses and Terms

Licenses require a License Agreement which includes general "Terms & Conditions".

The License Agreement itself is formulated in the subscription negotiations and by the online purchase of a license.

MSIT® Workplace - Research

Research Projects

Scientific Projects hosted in matport.com may be time limited or ongoing, performed as public research or customer directed contract work.

The critical evaluation of ternary constitutional data and diagrams has been underway since 1984, while its binary equivalent started in 2000.

Contract research tends to be of much shorter duration, typically in the order of months, although longer projects are also welcome.

Access to secured working areas for collaborating partners is provided under My Workplace.

Contract Research

MSI GmbH offers engineering and scientific consulting services related to materials dominated tasks for industrial clients and assists large scale research programs.

Supported by MSIT, a broad range of expertise is employed covering a wide range of materials classes and applications.

Binary Evaluation Program

This program critically evaluates constitutional data and diagrams of two-component systems of inorganic materials. The program started when it became apparent in 2000 that the vast amount of new literature required an update of existing compilations.

To arrive at descriptions of ternary materials systems that are consistent with their binary sub-systems the two evaluation programs co-ordinated.

Ternary Evaluation Program

Critical intellectual evaluation of phase diagram data is executed within MSIT Evaluation Programs via this web area. This relates to all TERNARY inorganic materials systems, except for salts.

My Workplace

My Workplace is secured to visitors who co-operate in the MSIT Evaluation Programs and other MSI projects. It gives the individuals access to their specific project areas.

Free Tools

On these pages Matport is going to offer Free-of-Charge Tools in order to support scientists.

Communities

Communities in Matport

Matport offers home and visibility to communities active in materials chemistry. Presently it hosts the "Alloy Phase Diagram International Commission" (APDIC) the "Materials Science International Team" (MSIT) and the Brasilian Phase Diagram Committee.

APDIC Home

The public area of APDIC displays the structure of APDIC and the annual reports by the APDIC member organisations reflecting the activities going on in their area.

My APDIC

This area is secured to APDIC organisations and their cooperating members. Access to the team area of APDIC is through the authorisation software, MSIT® Connect plus registration with MSI, like it is for all other secured areas in matport.com.

MSIT

MSIT, Materials Science International Team is a group of scientists from all over the world, sharing expertise in materials constitution and its applications, collaborating in phase diagram evaluation work with MSI and others.
